Our beets begin with old-world, heirloom seeds that are grown using certified organic and traditional natural European farming methods in Germany’s Black Forest. After harvest, our beets are transported only minutes away to our certified organic processing plant. When you see these symbols, you can be assured that the product is USDA certified organic by our third-party certifier, Oregon Tilth. "Certified Organic" means the item has been grown according to strict USDA uniform standards, which are verified by independent state and/or private organizations and revolve around the use of sustainable management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony.

When this symbol is present, it means we have deemed it most beneficial to cold-press the ingredient into juice before carefully cold-drying it into a powdered form. Delivering only juice can amplify the nutrient density-a little goes a long way!

We do not add or water down our products with fillers, chemicals, sweeteners, or carriers. Take a look at some of the other products out there and you will see such things as maltodextrin, fibers, rice powder, flavors, etc. These are used to "pad" the products, greatly diminishing their value. Not so with Pure Synergy Organics -pure and simple all the way!

The key to preserving the life force and nutritional benefits of a fresh ingredient is to use the perfect drying and processing method. Our founder's original years of research in the 1970s at UCLA Medical Center were dedicated to this very pursuit. As such, we use a variety of exclusive, low temperature, oxygen-free/light-free drying methods that best suits each veggie, fruit, grass, herb, flower, algae, spice or whatever it may be to ensure the finest possible finished product. We also cold-mill all of our ingredients into powder form, which further protects their precious cargo. This is in sharp contrast to the much cheaper and nutrient destructive processes like high-heat spray drying, infrared, radiant, microwave, and drum drying utilized by most companies. These other high-heat and oxidizing methods literally blast out most of the important goodies within and leave the finished product void of vibrant color, void of fresh taste, and void of nutritional potency.

Once our ingredients are cold-processed into powder form, the next challenge is to keep their preserved "life" intact through proper and safe packaging and storage. This is an imperative step that most other companies let fall by the wayside. Our ingredients are hermetically sealed without oxygen in light-impermeable amber glass bottles to ensure that the phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fresh taste are preserved. This also has the added benefit to you and the environment by keeping your "food" away from the detriments of plastic.

We are certified to produce ingredients that are designated Kosher-Parve by Orthodox Union. Our kosher status is another indication of our dedication to meeting quality standards that exceed the industry norms.

All of our Pure Synergy Organics products are gluten-free and processed and packaged in our gluten-free facilities. We test every lot to ensure our products meet strict gluten-free standards.

From day one, we have been 100% committed to a NO GMO Policy, meaning GMOs are not allowed in any of our ingredients, products or facility. This model policy was enacted long before the recent trend and growing consumer awareness. We continue to be dedicated to absolute avoidance of all GMO ingredients. Our certified organic standards disallow the use of any GMO ingredients every step along the way.

OUR DRYING AND PREPARATION METHODS

There is no one size fits all drying method. Each fresh grown ingredient is carefully assessed by Synergy to determine which specialty drying method will best produce a preserved, bioactive, fresh finished powder. The common denominator is the use of low temperatures in an environment that is free of oxygen and light, all elements that have the potential to destroy the vital nutrients within.

Fresh freeze-dried: Freeze-drying is considered the gold standard and is proven to preserve the naturally occurring biochemical "actives" of a substance. By uniquely bypassing the liquid and evaporative state (where destructive reactions can take place quickly) and going from "frozen" to "dried" in an oxygen-free and UV light-free environment, the bioactive particles of a fresh material are immediately locked into a stable matrix, in effect sealed off from the excessive nutrient losses that would normally take place in the much more common drying processes.

Vacuum low temperature-dried: Very similar to our fresh freeze-drying, this is a special, patented low temperature drying process that uses a vacuum to create a low pressure, oxygen-free/light-free, cold environment that maximizes nutrient retention.

CO₂ low temperature-dried: A special low temperature drying process that uses a refrigerated and light-free chamber with natural carbon dioxide to create an oxygen-free, cold environment that maximizes nutrient retention.

Specialty-dried under low heat: For tomatoes, the application of very precise low levels of heat actually optimizes the release of beneficial phytonutrients (like lycopene) when creating our pure tomato juice powder.

We discovered that this required unwavering care and attention to the process, down to every last detail-from the special heirloom seeds we plant, the rich organic soil we cultivate and care for, our hard-working organic farmers who grow all of our plants, our uniquely developed harvesting schedule and techniques, our proprietary cold temperature drying techniques, our custom designed cold-milling process, all the way to our vacuum-sealed packaging and 100% cold storage. We call this fastidious set of steps our "Synergized ®" process. What does “Pass” mean on the Certificate of Compliance?

You will see that each of the tested components (heavy metals, microbes, etc.) has a “Pass” associated with it in the Results column. This means that the product meets the strict, well-established safety specifications and limits for this particular component as verified by either our in-house certified testing and/or by an independent, third-party validated laboratory. We have studied the guidance, recommendations, and regulations of a wide variety of reputable and scientific international organizations to determine our strict safety limits when it comes to microbes, heavy metals, radiation, gluten, and others. “Pass” essentially means that our products fully meet these strict and well-established parameters across the board.

What does “Complies” mean on the Certificate of Compliance in reference to GMOs?

We use the term “complies” to refer specifically to our audited compliance with all the guidelines and regulations of the organic programs of the U.S. Canada, European Union and Japan, which disallow the use of genetically modified organisms in any of our ingredients, products, or in our facility.

Why are there so many different standards for what is considered safe for these various compounds and elements—isn’t there one federal standard?

Perhaps surprisingly, but no, there is not one single acceptable federal standard for safety when it comes to microbes, heavy metals, and radiation. Various scientific and reputable organizations around the world, including the FDA, USDA, EPA, WHO, and others, have studied these topics and their health implications. Subsequently, many of them have issued their recommendations for safe ranges. It is up to each manufacturer to determine which established standards they will follow. The Synergy Company has done an exhaustive analysis of ALL of these organizations’ guidance and set our safety standards at the strictest, safest levels in the industry.

What are the actual numbers & ranges associated with the various standards listed on the Certificate of Compliance?

For more information about the standards established by each of these organizations, please ask. We would be happy to direct you to the websites where some of this information is available. Each organization or agency has established its own set of standards based on their analysis of the contaminant. The Synergy Company has taken all of the guidance into consideration and selected the most conservative, safe standards for each testing parameter.

Are these tests listed on the Certificate of Compliance performed on every lot?

Yes, our Quality Assurance Program at Synergy mandates that we perform all of these tests listed on every lot of product to ensure absolute quality and safety for you. Not only do we test every lot of our finished products, but we also test every lot of each of our incoming ingredients that go into these products for many of these elements and contaminants. This type of extensive testing is very rare in the industry and shows our dedication to leading the way when it comes to the highest quality standards.
